Tapas & Tales at Tres Gatos Built Community!

On the evening of October 3 we hosted a sold-out event with Tres Gatos, Boston's newest tapas restaurant.

Forty-eight friends, neighbors, and people new to Hyde Square Task Force joined us to hear Ken Tangvik read from his collection of short stories, Don't Mess With Tanya: Stories Emerging from Boston's Barrios. (Ken is a founder of Hyde Square Task Force and our Director of Organizing as well as a professor at Roxbury Community College.)
After a wonderful introduction by Claudio Martinez, the Executive Director of HSTF, Ken spoke about how his book was created.

The special menu created by Tres Gatos chef Marcos and not usually available on their regular menu was a culinary delight and the conversations and interactions were equally as enjoyable. Look for more HSTF partnerships with local business people like David Doyle, the owner of Tres Gatos. We received 20% of the proceeds from the event.
