The
Hyde Square Task Force is an
award-winning youth development and social change organization. Through
high-quality arts, academic, and leadership programming, HSTF serves over 1000
youth in the Hyde-Jackson Square area of Jamaica Plain and Roxbury. Our mission
is to develop the skills of youth and their families so that they are empowered
to enhance their own lives and build a strong, safe, and vibrant urban

Position: Out of School Youth Assistant
Coordinator
Job summary: The Out of School Youth Assistant Coordinator, a part-time staff position (10-15 hours/week), reports to the Health Careers Ambassadors Program Coordinator and supervises 5 out of school youth. S/he will spend 2-3 hours/week facilitating workshops and 7-8 hours working on the tobacco campaign. S/he will be responsible for training the youth in campaign strategy, managing the tobacco campaign, creating lesson plans, and supporting program participants.
The Out of School Youth Assistant Coordinator will be employed from November through September. S/he will be present during program times Thursdays 4 to 7pm. Additional planning and administrative hours are flexible including weekly meetings with the Health Careers Ambassadors Program Coordinator.
Primary job responsibilities:
§
Carry
out tobacco-related work plan.
§
Support
HCAP Coordinator in fulfilling grant-reporting requirements
§
Attend
monthly conference calls and/or meetings for tobacco campaign
§
Report
back on youth and campaign process
§
Train
and guide youth on tobacco related campaign
§
Assist
in supporting OSY through check-ins
§
Ensure
that youth are following HSTF values and expectations
§
With
the coordinator’s assistance, create and facilitate workshops for 2-3
hours/week to advance tobacco work plan
Qualifications:
§ Experience with organizing campaigns
§ Experience working with urban youth
§ Experience working with out of school
youth a plus
§ Experience creating and facilitating
workshops
§ College degree a plus, but not
required
§ Spanish speaking a plus, but not
required
Salary will
be commensurate with experience.
